Luka Novak (August 1, 1963 in Koper) is a Slovenian writer, politician, publisher and TV personality. He is the director of the Slovenian Intellectual Property Office. He studied Comparative Literature, French, Italian and Romance Philology (Universities of Ljubljana, Bonn, Tübingen, 1989–1993), and obtained an MBA in 1997 (IEDC International Business School Bled, 1997). He was a visiting scholar at the University of Tübingen. An essayist and journalist (Telex, Problemi, Deutsche Welle, Delo) Novak co-founded Vale-Novak Publishers. and is a member of various boards: the Slovenian Book Fair (2002–2011), Maribor as European Capital of Culture 2012, the Slovenian Book Agency.
